Smotrich: Palestinian Authority Must Be Toppled, War in the West Bank Is Inevitable

Al-Taj News – Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that the Palestinian Authority “must be toppled,” according to remarks quoted by Israeli media.

Smotrich said that the “Oslo Accords are over,” adding that Israel will be forced in the near future to wage a war in the West Bank to disarm the Palestinians there and ensure that weapons are “exclusively in our hands.”

He also said that Area A in the West Bank should belong to Israel.

Smotrich’s remarks come at a time when the West Bank is witnessing a military escalation, amid continued Israeli military operations and arrests, as tensions between Israel and the Palestinian Authority continue to rise.
